Equality and Gender Pay Gap Reporting
HCAT is committed to the promotion of equality of opportunities to all employees, and supports the fair treatment of all staff irrespective of gender.
HCAT is committed to equality in both education provision and employment. We aim to ensure that students, parents, Governors, employees, contractors, partners, clients and those who may potentially join the Trust community are treated fairly and with dignity and respect. We will be positive and proactive about people’s differences, and wherever possible, we will identify and remove barriers to inclusion and achievement.
Equality is at the heart of HCAT’s culture, so whilst we have high standards, we continue to challenge and improve upon what we do.
Our Equality Objectives for 2021-2024 are:
- To strengthen the Academy curriculums across the Trust to ensure effective teaching of equality and diversity
- Lessen the achievement and attendance differences of disadvantaged pupils in the Trust
- Encourage inclusive leadership at all levels across the Trust, to allow for a diversity of understanding and experience to advance our inclusive culture.

In April 2017, the government introduced the gender pay gap transparency regulations. The regulations are to encourage large employers to take informed action to close their gender pay gap where one exists
HCAT from June 2019 (with the conversion of Horizon) now employ more than 250 employees and therefore we are legally bound to publish details of the gender pay gap annually.
